Obituary (Clarence (MO) Courier, Apr. 4, 1968)- Mrs. Mary Jane Sage, 81, of Clarence, passed away Saturday, March 30, 1968, at 2 a.m. in the Pleasant View Rest Home at Huntsville where she had been a resident for two months. She was born in Shelby County August 7, 1886, a daughter of Elisha and Elizabeth Stephens Fifer. She was married to Emmett Sage on November 28, 1912. He preceded her in 1960. Mrs. Sage had spent her life in Shelby County. She was a member of the Center Street Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Betty J.) Trussell of Clarence; one grandson, Harold Trussell; and other relatives. She was preceded by her parents, husband, and one sister, Dollie Garlow. The body laid in state at the Greening Funeral Home in Clarence. Funeral services were held at the Center Street Methodist Church in Clarence Monday, April 1, 1968, at 2 p.m. Rev. Tillman Nussbaum and Bro. Lyle Armstrong officiated. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.
