Andy Frank Hobbs, 93, our loved and respected husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2011.

Andy was born August 11, 1918 in West Jordan, Utah to Arthur Franklin and Effie Mae Hansen Hobbs.

On June 21, 1946, Andy married Barbara Helen Weidner in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Andy had a great love for his wife of sixty-five years, and for his family.

He was proud to be a Jordan High School "Beetdigger" and continued to sing the fight song at age ninety-three.

Andy served in the military during World War II and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant.

He graduated from BYU in accounting and earned his CPA. He was an IRS employee for twenty-five years.

Andy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many callings which include, Bishop, High Councilman, ward clerk, and ward mission leader.

He and his sweetheart served an LDS Mission in the Missouri/St. Louis Mission. They also served in the LDS Temple for many years making lifelong friends.

Andy had a great interest in Midvale City. He served as Midvale City Councilman, worked in the Midvale Museum, and took part in many beautification projects. He loved to go hunting, especially with his sons. He loved caring for his garden and fruit trees.

Andy often told his family how much he loved and appreciated them. As a family, we express the love and appreciation we have for him. Andy will truly be missed.

Survivors: wife, Barbara; children, Art Hobbs (Jhuvie), Vernal; Stan Hobbs (Shannon), Riverton; Jim Hobbs (Robyn), Murray; Frank Hobbs (Judy), West Jordan; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Melba Hobbs, Midvale.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Midvale Eighth Ward Chapel, 8350 South Jackson Street (245 West). A viewing will be held on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), and again Saturday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Midvale City Cemetery.
