Dorothy S. Cameron

Dorothy S. Cameron, 77, Springfield, passed away at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2011, in her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a short fight with cancer.

She was born on August 1, 1934 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of the late Donald M. and Mary A. (Richardson) Clough. She was united in marriage on August 30, 1951 in Jasper, Arkansas to Darl E. Cameron. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Cameron, and a sister, Georgia Crain.

Dorothy was a strong woman with a soft touch and raised her family with a loving hand and heart. Her smile was joyful and contagious. She dedicated her life to her family and they were always her first priority. She led by example how to live responsibly, love deeply, and laugh often. She always made life fun and adventuresome and loved all animals, but had a special place in her heart for cats.

She was truly an angel on earth that will live in our hearts and continue to guide us from above. All who met her, loved her and will miss her, but look forward to seeing her again in a wonderful place.

She is survived by the love of her life and soul mate for the past 60 years, her husband, Darl "Lucky"; a son, Darl W. Cameron and wife Regina, Rogersville; three daughters, Susan Love and husband Nick, Teresa McCormack, and Karen Stapp and husband David, all of Springfield; a brother, Don L. Clough and wife Sandy, State of Florida; fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a nephew, two nieces and many other relatives and friends.

No visitation is planned.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011 in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield under the care of J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.
