Charles E. Dalrymple
CDR., USNR (RET.) WW II
WW II prompted his enrollment at the Merchant Marine Academy. After graduation in 1944, he joined the US Navy as an Ensign. After the war, Charles made his career in the printing business in Washington, DC. The Dalrymples retired to Hendersonville, NC and later moved to Tryon Estates in Columbus, NC. Services on July 11 at Tryon Estates, with interment at a later date at Saint John in the Wilderness, Flat Rock, NC.

Parents: *Captain Clarence L. Dalrymple,
and Leona I. Dalrymple *Capt. Dalrymple was Chief of the uniformed White House Police Force (1930-1937).
Wife: *Marion Longhurst Dalrymple
(mar'd. 1968, d. 2000) *Marion was the first female Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy.
Sister: Nellie E. Dalrymple
Half-Brother: Robert C. Dalrymple
