Mr. Brasington was born in Florence, son of the late Harold W. and Mildred Baker Brasington, Sr. Harold served his country in the National Guard, then owned and operated along with his father, H.W. Brasington Sand and Gravel. He always had an interest in Darlington Raceway and was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church and their Men's Club.
Surviving are his wife, Rosanne Dargan Brasington of Darlington, three sons: Harold W. (Dawn) Brasington, III, of Florence, Dargan E. Brasington of Boulder, CO, George E. (Whitney) Brasington of Celo, NC, a daughter and son-in-law, Annie Brasington and Clark Burnside of Charleston, and four grandchildren.
