Reginald A. "Reggie" Ritchott, 87, of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Sunday, October 23, 2011. He passed into Eternal Life from Country Estates of Agawam surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born at home in Chicopee on August 7, 1924, a beloved son of the late Henri and Mandia (LaForme) Ritchott. He was raised in Chicopee and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was last employed as a heavy equipment operator at the John S. Lane Construction Company at the Notch in Amherst and also in Westfield. He also worked for many years as a sexton at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley. He was a communicant of Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee. He was a quiet man who adored his family and showered them with his love and affection which was returned to him a thousand fold. He leaves his devoted wife and best friend, Rita I. (Page) Ritchott. They were married at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee on June 1, 1946 and were blessed with over 65 years of happiness together. He also leaves: his five loving daughters, Carole A. Korvek and her husband, John of Agawam, Barbara J. Murphy-Ritchott of Chicopee, Suzanne E. Dupre and her husband, Michel of Westfield, Janet M. Cote-Briere and her husband, Richard of Goshen, MA and Lynda L. Constantilos and her husband, Gary of Goshen, MA; his 16 cherished grandchildren, Dr. Scott and Jason Korvek, Timothy, Jessica, Kelley and Ryan Murphy, Kristin, Alyssa and Natalie Dupre, Tiffany and Jeremy Cote, Joseph and Thomas Briere, Joshua Ritchott, Anna Pouliot and Justin Constantilos; his five cherished great-grandchildren, Skylar Murphy, Morgan and Ethan Bombard, and Page and Seth Pouliot; his dear brothers-in-law, Hector Page of Holyoke and Roger Page and his wife, Mary, of Chicopee and his many dear nephews and nieces. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his dear sisters, Rena Frederick and Lillian Houle. Funeral held on Friday, October 28, 2011, at the St. Pierre Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, Dale Street, Chicopee, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name of Jesus Parish located at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Springfield Street, Chicopee. Burial will at Sainte Rose Cemetery, Olsen Street, Chicopee. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
