E. F. Hilton
In May 1889 the above named professional photographer came here from Kansas and opened an attractive gallery. His artistic skill soon secured for him a most favorable reputation and a lucrative business, which has grown better every day since he commenced here. All work done in his studio is executed by himself and is first class in every particular. He takes all kinds of pictures from life size to the smallest head view, and also does crayon and India ink work on short notice. He is master of his business at which he has had many years experience.

E.F. Hilton calls his place of business in Creede the Rock Castle Gallery. It is perched upon a big boulder and one has to climb a flight of stairs to get to it. But a look at his views on the camp well repays the slight labor of reaching him. The post office is Amethyst.
