Wilmer Lee Beecher, age 84, passed away Monday, May 31, 2016 at the Emanuel County Medical Center in Swainsboro. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He had served in Georgia Army National Guard and retired as a Captain of the Reidsville Police Department. After his retirement with the Police Department he served as a Tattnall County Commissioner and also drove the school bus for many years. He loved to farm, fish and was known for his ability to tell great stories. Mr. Beecher is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Clara Mae Bowen Beecher; wife, Ila Jean Davis Beecher; brother, Charles Beecher and a sister, Faye Hart.


He is survived by his children, Gloria (Bobby) Edge of Milledgeville, Robert Michael (Cindy) Beecher of Reidsville, Wilmer Lee (Melissa) Beecher Jr. of Statesboro, Johnny Ray (Karen) Beecher of Tallahassee, Angie (Mark) Monroe of Cobbtown, and Lucretia (Thad) Conner of Swainsboro; siblings, Loretta Lynn of Macon, Morgan Beecher of Okechobee, FL, Melba (Vernon) Kennedy of Ohoopee, and Walden Beecher of Reidsville; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

NOTE: Buried in Cedar Creek # 2 which

is across paved Cedar Creek Road and about

400 yards north of Cedar Creek Church. You



The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, June 3, 2016 from the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will follow in the Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
