SARAH VIVIAN SCHOCH

Born January 24, 1881, near Hamond Illinois. Eldest daughter in family of eleven children of Walter Scott and Abbie (Leavitt) Moomau.

Moved to Medicine Lodge, Kanas, in Jan 1885 onto government land, which was open for settlement. Educated in the rural schools of Barber County and taught four successive terms there. Returning to Illinois in 1904. Was united in marriage to Simon Theodore Schoch April 19 1905. To this union was born six children, two of whom preceded her in death, Ralph in 1924, and Inez in 1926. Mr. Schoch was removed by death in October 1932.

In 1941, family was broken, Mrs. Schoch going to Evanston where she graduated from a practical nurses training school. She nursed many homes in this vicinity, going to Milwaukee in late 1944 where she has since resided. Was converted at an early age, uniting with Methodist Church at Medicine Lodge. After her marriage she transferred by letter to the Congregational Church of Urbana, of which she is still a member. She was a member of Rebekkah Lodge in Urbana, V. F. W. Auxiliary in West Bend, and Golden Age Club of Milwaukee. As a young woman she was intreested in church, school, and civic activities.

She leaves three sons -- Walter of Chicago; Keith of Seoul, Korea; Elizabeth Hirth of Tenafly, NJ; Harry of West Bend, Wisconsin; ten grandchildren, also five brothers -- Charles and Cleve, Medicine Lodge, Kansas; Harry and Claude of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Clif of Stirling, Il; and a sister Mrs. Inez Hooker of Prosser, Washington. Numerous neices and nephews and friends.
