Rev Franklin Luther Fisk was graduated in June 1876 from Beloit College and three years later took the degree of Master of Arts. He taught school in Olge County, Illinois until 1880, when he entered Chicago Theological Seminary. During the three years' course at this institution, aside from the regular work, he taught a Chinese night school in Farwall Hall, preached many Sabbaths, and did other labor. In vacation preached at Blair and Kearney, Nebraska. He graduated from the above named seminary in May 1883; was ordained and installed by council November 20, 1883, at Downer's Grove, Ill., where he was pastor of the Congregational church at Baraboo, Wisconsin, he was called to the pastorate on the Congregational Church, Lake City, Minn. where he aided in union with the Presbyterians. After three years of hard and very fruitful work with the Congregational Church he undertook the new enterprise at Garner, IA. In three years' time built up a strong, efficient church, having a new well equipped building. October 20, 1894 he began to work with the new church at Elkader, Clayton County, IA.
