Thomas (Bud) Roberts Sneddon, 79, passed away April 24, 2000, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born February 23, 1921 in Montpelier to T.N. and Goldie Roberts Sneddon.
He attended schools in Montpelier graduating from Montpelier High School. He graduated from the University of Idaho where he was affiliated with Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He was also a member of the Blue Key Club.
Tom served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 57th Pennsylvania National Guard. He was a veteran of the Normandy Invasion where he was wounded in action and was awarded a Purple Heart
In 1945 he married Dorothy Lee McKee in Jackson Hole. They had two children, Murray and Ann. They raised their family in Montpelier where he owned and operated Bear Lake Motor. He was chairman of the hospital board, served as a city councilman, member of the Rotary Club and served his community as the V.A. representative for Bear Lake for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was dedicated to his family and particularly enjoyed his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dorothy; his son, Murray and his wife, Susan; and grand-daughters, Heather (Mike) Dirham, Heidi (Matt) Fluegge, Penny Sneddon, and Jocelyn and Katie Lear; and great-grandchildren, Kylie and Braxton Dirham.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Sneddon Lear, on September 20, 1996.
A memorial service will he held May 16 at 11 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic church in Montpelier.
