MRS. FRANK WHITMAN

MRS. ETTA A. WHITMAN, 61, of 16 Seedorff, wife of FRANK WHITMAN of Emmett township, died at 9:10 a.m. today in a local convalescent home after an illness of two years. She was born in Potterville, June 24, 1888, the daughter of ORIN and DOROTHY LEWIS. CHARLES WISE, her first husband, died 32 years ago in Hastings, and her second husband, HENRY VAN VLEET, died eight years ago in Battle Creek. Mrs. Whitman lived in Battle Creek for the last 31 years and was a member of the Glad Tidings assembly. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, MRS. OLAF OLSEN of 209 Theodore, MRS. LLOYD REED of 16 Seedorff and MRS. WESLEY VAN VLEET of 47 Barney; four sons, LAWRENCE WISE of 188 Kimbal, RAYMOND and EDWARD VAN VLEET of 47 Barney and EMMETT VAN VLEET of 208 Cherry; one sister, MRS. SAMUEL RENFRO of Oakland, Calif.; 24 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
