Teresa L. Armentrout, age 49 years, a resident of Alexandria, VA and a former resident of Elkins, passed away Thursday evening, October 20, 2011 in the Johns Hopkins Hospital at Baltimore, MD. She was born December 28, 1961 at Elkins, a daughter of William Sherman Armentrout of Elkins and the late Frances Marie Chewning Armentrout. She is also survived by two brothers, Mark Armentrout of Centreville, VA, Timothy Armentrout and wife Joyce of Summersville, WV and two nieces, Katelyn Walkup and husband Jon of Morgantown and Amy Armentrout of Summersville. Teresa was a 1980 Graduate of Elkins High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from West Virginia University. Until the time of her death, she was employed as a Special Assistant to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Logistics Management with the United States Department of State. She enjoyed traveling worldwide, playing piano, reading and following West Virginia University Mountaineer sports. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, October 24. 2011 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. On Tuesday, October 25, 2011 the family will be receiving friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM the funeral hour. The Rev. Jim Murphy and Rev. Hollis G. Dodge will officiate and interment will follow in the Elkins Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to So Others Might Eat, 71 O Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20001 or Otterbein United Methodist Church, 1100 South Davis Avenue, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Teresa.
