Henry H Dust of Effingham, Illinois, died Friday morning, 3:15 April 5, 1929 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Knox, Indiana, USA, from injuries received Wednesday afternoon when struck by a big bus near Allendale, south of Lawrenceville, Illinois.

Mr Dust was returning home from Mt Carmel, Illinois, where he had transacted business. Near Lawrenceville, Illinois, on State highway No 1, he had trouble with one of the tires which he tried to remedy. At that moment, a big bus came along an struck him, knocking him unconscious. He was immediately taken to the office of the doctor in Allendale for first aid, later to the Good Samaritan Hospital at Vincennes, Indiana, for further treatment. There it was found that he had received serious injuries on his head, spine, heart, collar bone broken, broken ribs and was also fatally injured internally. His wife and daughter, Miss Agnes, of Effingham, Illinois, were notified. They immediately left for Vincennes, Indiana, to be at his bedside to the end. What medical aid could do for him was done. It is reported he never did regain consciousness, but others say he was conscious for a few moments. The remains were brought to Effingham, Illinois,,Illinois, Friday.

Funeral services were held at Effingham, Illinois, Douglas, Effingham, Illinois, USA - St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Monday morning at 9 o'clock followed by burial in the Church Cemetery. The obliquities were largely attended by relatives especially from Bishop Creek, Effingham, Illinois, Green Creek, Illinois, Dieterich, Illinois, Lillyville, Illinois, and Teutopolis, Illinois, and neighbors and friends. Attained age 45 years.

Mr Dust was a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.

Deceased is survived by his wife(nee Anna Worman): and daughter Agnes;his aged father, Wm H Dust;inois;two sisters, (Mary) Mrs ben Hartke of Bishop, Illinois; (Therese) Mrs Ed Westendorf of Oregon, Ill, two brothers, John and Ben of Bishop, Illinois; furthermore his stepmother, Mrs Wm H Dust. one half-brother, William and two half sisters, (Josephine) Mrs Allie Repking all of Bishop, Illinois, settlement and 'Alice' Mrs Ferdie Goeckner of Gary, Indiana; and other relatives.

Mr Dust is the son of Wm H Dust of southeast of Bishop Creek Church. He attended District, Illinois, school number 30. Grown to manhood, he was married to Miss Anna Worman, daughter of Mr and Mrs Jos Worman, of Bishop, Illinois, and began farming west of Elliottstown, Illinois, for several years. About ten years ago, he came to Effingham, Illinois, and went into the automobile business specializing in wholesale tire and and battery lines. He conducted a branch store in Mt Carmel. Illinois, where he had been struck by the bus on his return trip.

The following parties from Teutopolis attended the funeral: Henry Habing, Henry Pruemer, Mrs Henry Brummer and daughter, Veronica, Ferd Althoff, Mr and Mrs Albert Brumleve and daughter, Clara, John F Hardiek, Mr and Mrs Tony Zerrusen.
