James B. "Jimmy" Armstrong, 88, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2003, in Arlington.

Funeral: Services to celebrate the life of James B. "Jimmy" Armstrong will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2003, at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Dr. Dan Gregg, pastor of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Visitation: The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003 in Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.

Jim was born in Waxahachie on November 9, 1914. He was a longtime Fort Worth resident and retired from the Schoellkopf Co. in 1983. He served in the Army from 1933 to 1937 and re-enlisted in the Army Air Forces during World War II.

Jim graduated from Southwestern Seminary in 1951 with a degree in music. He served as minister of music in several churches in central Texas.

He was a lifelong fishing enthusiast and an avid Rangers and sports fan.

Jim demonstrated his deep love of God throughout his lifetime and in the last days of his life here continued to share his love of Jesus with his caretakers and visitors.

Survivors: Loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Thelma Armstrong; children, Tammy Louise DiBella and her three children, Shauna, Faith and Jake of Arlington, and Sorita Arons and husband, Les, and their children, Ashley and Will of Richland Springs; sister, Anna Graham Parsons of Waxahachie; stepchildren, Don Jennings and wife, Laverne, Steve Jennings and wife, Linda, and Sue Jennings; precious friends and in-laws; and many nieces and nephews and "adopted family," Cindi Love and Gordon and Patsy Eastman.
