HELEN E. GARRIS, 89, died Friday at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a homemaker and a World War II Army Air Forces veteran. Surviving are two sons, Thomas J. of Fort Wayne and David of Huntertown; three daughters, Geraldine Davidson, Dorothy Burkett and Sheryl Wedler, all of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother Jack Wichern of Logansport; and a sister, Evelyn Johnson of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Her son, Michael Wayne Garris, died in 1968. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Borremeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, with calling one hour before services. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with vigil at 4:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, with military graveside service by American Legion Post 47. Memorials to Visiting Nurse Service's Hospice Home.
