Rosalind Brzezinski Contos, 72, formerly of 516 Wilkinson St., died Thursday at Loretto after a long illness.
Mrs. Contos was a life resident of the Syracuse area. She retired in 1989 after several years with the Onondaga County Law Department. Mrs. Contos previously was supervisor of housekeeping at the YMCA and during the 1970s was employed with Witherill's and Sibley's department stores. She was employed with General Electric Co. in the 1940s and Carrier Corp. in the 1950s and 1960s. Her husband, William A., died in 1992.
Mrs. Contos was a communicant of St. Stephen's Church and a former president of its Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet Zory of Camillus; two sons, Richard of Liverpool and Philip of Parish; four sisters, Helen Kalode, Gertrude Brzezinski, Veronica Miller and Virginia Brazosky, all of Syracuse ; a brother, Arthur Brzezinski of Syracuse ; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 8:45 a.m. Monday at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home, Fairmount, and 9:30 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 3700 W. Genesee St.
