Kristian Peter Peterson Son of Maren and Soren Neilsen was born November 18, 1880 in Phillips County, Kansas. He departed this life at Broken Bow, Nebraska on May 25, 1964 at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 6 days. As a child he came with his parents to Nebraska settling in the Black Hill Basin Community south of Mason City, Nebraska. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith, confirmed in the Zion congregation of Mason City April 10,1898 in which he remained steadfast until his death.
On December 9,1903, he was united in marriage to Nellie Mortensen at Zion Lutheran Church of Mason City, Nebraska. To this union were born two sons and two daughters. One son and one daughter preceded him in death as infants.
In his early years, he farmed and in later years he was employed by Custer County, operating a road patrol and constructing culverts and bridges for a number of years.
After the death of his wife in 1957, he made his home with his son, Lawerence and his daughter, Caroline. He was a kind and loving father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors: son Lawerence of Mason City; daughter Caroline Rhodes of Minden; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Celia Neilsen of Broken Bow, Ella Peterson of Mason City, and Hannah Madsen and Annie Madsen, both of Brush, Colorado; brother Alfred Peterson of Riverton, Wyoming.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Nellie; son, Albert: daughter Alice; sisters: Serena Lamb, Minnie Stender, Esther Peterson and brother Nels Peterson.
