Agnes M. Miller, 99, of Beatrice died at the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice on Thursday morning, Oct. 20, 2011.

She was born on Dec. 20, 1911, on a farm near Adams. She was married to Meinert Miller on Fe. 17, 1931, at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell and they lived and farmed northeast of Beatrice for 30 years. They moved to Beatrice in 1960.

She had been a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice since 1931 and had been active in the Sewing Circle. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell, where she was baptized and later confirmed by Pastor J.B. Reents on April 10, 1927. She worked as a ward attendant at the Beatrice State Developmental Center for over 16 years, Martin Luther Home for five years, and Coleman Nursing Home for one year. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards and flowers.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Daubendiek (Loren) of Beatrice; two sons, Lester Miller of Beatrice and Lewis Miller (Marlene) of Omaha; four grandchildren, Allen Daubendiek (Cheri), Gary Daubendiek (Gail), Janet Trout (David) and Kel ly Miller; one stepgranddaughter, Toby Morey; four great-grandchildren, Spencer and Mitchell Trout, Allana and Carissa Daubendiek; several stepgreat-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Agnes Hinrichs Waltke; her husband, Meinert, who died on Dec. 13, 1992; seven brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice with Pastor Chuck Bentjen officiating. Burial will be at the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery of rural Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the church. A memorial has been established to Beatrice Good Samaritan Center and Aseracare with Mildred Fossler in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 8 a.m. Saturday until 9 p.m. Sunday, and at the church one hour preceding the service on Monday.
