Mom was called by her middle name Pauline.

She was raised with 3 brothers Alvin, Bill and Jim McNeely by her parents Arthur and Mary Mariah "Memory" McNeely.

She was a beautician in Mt. Auburn in Cincinnati Ohio and met my father at her father's barber shop in Northside, in Cincinnati, Ohio when he stopped in for a hair cut. While her brother was cutting my father's hair, she walked in after work and their eyes met. She proceeded through a doorway where she peeked around the entrance to take a second look. Dad asked her brother to fix him up with her on a double date with him and his girl. My Uncle Bill snickered and said I bet you won't get a second date.

They went to Moonlight Gardens at Coney Island in Cincinnati, Ohio for dinner and dancing. Later after the dance they sat on a bench looking over the lake. Dad could see she had a chill and put his arm around her. She pushed his arm off and told him to just give her his jacket, and he did.

They later fell in love. Dad went into the service while they were dating. He married her while on leave and returned home on December 10, 1945 to be with her and my sister Nancy. Prior to Nancy's birth, Mom resigned from the hair salon due to raise her children.

She was a gentle, loving faithful wife and mother and treated her children with equal love and affection.

She was a Christian and was in the United Methodist Women's group at Oak Hills United Methodist Church in Mack Ohio.

She was a Girl Scout Leader as well as a Girl Scout Cookie Chairman and she encouraged her children to attend scouts to better their lives.

She loved all her grandchildren and always encouraged them to do what was right.

She was a good friend to her friends and kept in touch with them on a regular basis.

She passed away in Mercy Hospital with Dad, daughter Laura, her grandchildren & great grandchildren holding hands with her during prayer on December 10, 1998 the same date Dad came home from the Army to be with her and my sister Nancy.

She was truely loved and terribly missed.
