18th USA Infantry. Wounded on the first day of Battle of Stones River, died later at a field hospital. Asked a friend to return his belongings to his father, and was without any ID when he was buried. During the reinterrments for Stones River National Cemetery, he was unable to be identified. Brother of Uriah Fleagle, 1st Maryland PHB, who was killed on the 3rd day of Gettysburg. His name is also on Uriah's tombstone in Baust Church Cemetery, Tyrone, MD.
