Frank Mahalovich's parents were from Croatia. Josef and Elizabeth Mihalovic arrived in New York, New York on the vessel SS Oceania on October 26, 1910. Frank was born about two weeks after they arrived in Wyandotte County, Kansas.

Frank Mahalovich's obituary was printed in the Sedalia, Missouri newspaper following his death.

"Frank Mahalovich Sr., 93, of Sedalia, died Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Stoney Ridge Village.

He was born Nov. 9, 1910, in Wyandotte county, Kan., a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Lebec Mahalovich. On Nov. 25, 1936, in Sedalia, he was married to Lucille Ellis, who died Dec. 1, 1966. On Dec. 31, 1974, in Sedalia, He was married second to Dorothy D. Carter Ault, who died Feb. 2, 2002.

Mr. Mahalovich lived in the Sedalia area most of his life. He worked at Home Builders and later a Pittsburg Corning where he retired from. He was a member, an elder and home teacher at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. He was active in Boy Scouts. He loved being outdoors, fishing, listening to birds and playing cards--especially Solitare.

Surviving are two sons, Frank Jr. of Sedalia, and Kenneth Mahalovich or Smithton; a daughter Sylvia Knapp, of Sedalia, 10 grandchildren; 16 great grand children, six st ep-grandchildren, and 12 step great-greandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Janet Mahalovich; two sisters, Mary Biggiken and Kathryn Mahalovich and a stepgrandson, Steven Bryan Bishop Jr.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Bishop Harry Young officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Mahalovich, Terry Mahalovich, Timothy Mahalovich, Brian Mahalovich, Brandon Mahalovich and Freddy Curry Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be April Hendricks, Lisa Johnson, Kena Mahalovich, Keri Barnes, Connie Labus, Julie Landis and Cathy Goetz.

Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, northeast of Sedalia. Friends may call after 1 pm Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will received friends from 7 pm to 8:30 pm Sunday.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Hopewell Cemetery Association or to Boy Scout Troop 150."
