Kermit "Butch" Lee Hicks, Jr., age 67 of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at his home. A graveside service with military honors will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Kermit was born October 26, 1943 in Henderson Co., NC, son of Kermit Hicks, Sr. and Helen Holbert Hicks. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a sheet metal mechanic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley. Survivors include his wife, Delories Rittenberry Hicks of Clarksville; sons Kenneth Lee Hicks (Hye Shim) of Korea and Christopher Gage (Kimberly) of Florida; daughter, Sherri Lynn Hicks of Clarksville; grandchildren, Deanna Nicole Hicks, Sarah Gage and Jack Gage; sisters, Jackie, Gina, Vicky, Linda and Sandra, all of North Carolina, and nephews, Terry and Derick Bunch. Pallbearers will be Terry Bunch, Craig Groomes, Collin Christopher, Christopher Maille and Christopher Gage. (Published in The Leaf Chronicle on October 18, 2011)
