George is the son of Hans Georg & Anna Catherina (Kelnk) Wolfe. He married Ann Elizaeth Reid on March 12, 1766 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. (I have not been able to verify this info, so if you choose to use it, please understand that you must do research. If anyone finds verification, please send it along so that I can post it here.)

Pvt, Burks Co. Militia, Revolutionary War.

George's year of birth on the tombstone is obviously in error. He was married in 1766 and their first son was born in 1767.

George Wendle Wolfe entered the Revolutionary Army as a private in Capt. Michael Furrer's Company, Colonel Patton's Regiment, Berks County Militia, on August 27, 1776. (See Pa Archives, Vol XIV, Page 249). In 1793, when advanced in years, he disposed of his property in Berks county and purchased from Abraham Mensch about 1,000 acres of fine land in Buffalo Valley, in order to locate his children to better advantage than was possible in his old home, and moved there in 1796. The estate was situated on Turtle Creek a few miles southwest of Lewisburg
