On Friday, 30 September 2011, George Walter Abbott, 58 years old, passed away in Sonora, California.
He was born on Thursday, 02 July 1953 in Saint Paul, Minnesota and was the son George Walter Abbott Jr., and Patricia M. Abbott.
George attended schools in Minnesota and Montana and graduated from high school Class of 1971.
He served in the United States Navy for 20 years as an Aviation Electronics Technician, earning his Air Warfare Specialist wings while serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.
George served aboard the Eisenhower, Forrestal, Kennedy and the Ranger during Desert Storm and retired from the Navy in 1995, as a Chief.
He earned his bachelor of science degree in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
George was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and an active member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 391 Motorcycle Riders.
Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife of 25 years of marriage, Nancy A. Abbott, his son, Josh Abbott, his daughter, Justine Abbott, his brother, Lee Abbott, his sisters, Annette (Abbott) Glidden, Kathy (Abbott) Wettstein and Rita (Abbott) Krog.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Walter Abbott Jr., and Patricia M. Abbott.
