Attended Shook School. He was an interesting and well-read man, and farmed most of his life. Patrick Winter never married. After his brother Clay's wife died, leaving very small children to be cared for, "Uncle Pat" as he was called, lived with the family and provided loving care and nurturing. Jessie Perry Binford, one of Clay's children, often spoke fondly of Uncle Pat's loving and sweet nature. To this writer, who is the daughter of Jessie, Jessie appeared to look more to her Uncle Pat as the father figure than she did her father. Katie Marie, Jessie's oldest daughter,remembers Uncle Pat as a kind grandfather type individual to Marie and her brother Jack.
