Kaukauna Pioneer Dies.
Mrs. Barbara Kappell Passes Away at advanced age.

Kaukauna, Wis., March 21 - Mrs. Barbara Kappell, aged 77 years, was buried here this morning. Services were held at nine o'clock at St. Mary's Church. She was the progenitor of one of the largest families in this vicinity being the mother of ten children, fift-seven grand children and twelve great grand children..79 descendants altogether. Eight of her children are living, fifty grand children and twelve great grand children. Her husband Michael Kappell aged 83 years also survives. Her children are Mrs. Lena Beaulieu, Fosten, Minn., Mrs. Mary Chapin, Kaukauna, Mrs. Margaret Reichel, Kaukauna, Mrs. Laura Knox, Vicksburg, Mich., Mrs. Katherine Palmer, West De Pere, Michael Jr., Walter and Jacob Kappell, Kaukauna. Mr. and Mrs. Kappell came from Germany in 1864 settling in Winfield, Ill. They remained there until 1870 when they came to Kaukauna.
