One of the hardest things this author has ever had to pen is this small biography of one of the most phenomenal women on this earth. What can one say about Nelle?

The last ten years of this wonderful woman's life was spent with two of the closest friends, Yvonne Kress and Irene Schultz, she had for over fifty years. Nelle lived in New York City and lived a life full of love, acceptance and giving. I am a only one of her many recipients. Nelle came from humble beginnings during the early years of her life in rural Georgia but she continued to grow into one of the strongest women... traveling worldwide and sharing her heart with those around her.

One of the saddest moments in this author's life was when a call was received around 9:30 AM that morning saying she was no longer with us. Earth truly lost what Heaven gained. I was humbled to hold her loving hand one last time that day.

When one met Nelle, one could not help but feel loved and accepted. Nelle, we still raise our ice-filled glasses to you... gently clinking for a refill!

We love and miss you, Nelle....

P.S.... your peonies STILL look fabulous!
