Daughter of William & Magdalene Budelier Dellenbach.
When she was a small child the family moved to a farm near Keota, Iowa, where her mother died in 1874. Then Mary, at age 11, began the many years of homemaking for her father and the six children. The family moved to a farm eight miles southeast of Pawnee City in 1882, this was the family home for the next 60 years. Her father died in 1885 and Mary continued to be the family homemaker for the brothers and sister and the hospitality of her home was known far and wide.
Surviving were her sister Freda and brother Arthur. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
