Mrs. Clifford A. Simmons, 79, died Thursday, Aug. 3 at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Her home was at 601 North 9th St., Cherokee. She had lived in Cherokee since 1963 and prior to this on a farm in Silver Township.

She was born June 11, 1893 in Silver Township. The former Blanche Allen was married to Clifford A. Simmons Nov. 8,1911 in Ida Grove. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and an honorary member of the Cher-A-MI Club.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Lucille) Samuelson, Cleghorn and Mrs, Luverne (Evelyn) Holmes, Cherokee; a son, Lorne Allen Simmons, Riverside, Calif.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Sorrell, Cherokee, Mrs. Dale Quinn, Huntingtoo Beach, Calif, and Mrs. Everett Travis, Whipholt, Mica.; a brother, Harold Allen of Cherokee.

She was preceded in death by my parents; a daughter, Harriet 1923; also two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2p.m, at the Boothby Funeral home. Dr. V. V. Schuldt will officiate and burial will be in Hope Cemetery.

There will be a family prayer service at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
