Frank Sims Carrick and Sallie Little were married in Tennessee on October 3, 1898 and in 1901 became residents of Old Greer County, Oklahoma Territory...now Harmon County, Oklahoma. Frank filed on land in the Metcalf Community and later moved to his Dad's place near Gould.

The Carrick's raised 10 children. In addition to the farming operation, they raised turkeys and one seasonal task was helping the Hugh Metcalf family with their sorghum mill making syrup.
