Roy McLaughlin was called "Fred." He died at age 72. He was stricken with a heart attack and taken to the hospital. He died shortly after he arrived at the hospital. He had been the Third Ward supervisor and former city alderman and one time member of the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners. He was also a retired Millwaukee Road engineer. His father had also been a railroad man. He married the former Marion Rose of Racine on Dec. 30, 1905. His bride was said to be "a most excellent young lady and a member of one of Racine's best families." The couple celebrated their golden wedding the year before Fred died. Besides his wife, he was survived by a daughter, Mrs. W. E. Braunschweig of Johnson Creek; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Three daughters and a son died in infancy.
