He and his wife (Emily Jane (Whipple) divorced and she remarried. John and Emily had TWO daughters from their marriage. One was Clara who was born 22 November 1888 was listed 21 years of age in the 1910 Census in Wisconsin, with her Mother Emily and step father James Langley. She was listed as a Teacher. She married Ralph E. Walker on 5 July 1918 and she died 6 May 1946 in Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa.
The other daughter was Hazel Maude Cooley born 1892 and died 1957. She married Oscar Fred Fease.
Emily and John married on 8th of November 1887. They had Demond Whipple and Ida Cooley as their witnesses at their marriage in Eyota, Olmsted County Minnesota.
John was also listed with his sister Rose Alice and Brother-in-law John H. Diamond of the 1885 Viola, Olmsted County, Minnesota Census as 25 years old living with them was also a child of Alice and John Diamond named Mable as 7 moths old. That census record # is 25029. His death Record certificate in the Minnesota Deaths is #22790. The name was incorrectly spelled as Coaley instead of Cooley.
