Marjorie Buchanan, daughter of the late Floyd Samual Deardorff and Estie Shilts Deardorff, was born on Oct. 22, 1922, near Dexter and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at the age of 84.
Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the Liberty Hill General Baptist Church at Aid, a retired clerk for Wal-Mart in Dexter, a member of the Puxico Order of the Eastern Star #422, a charter member of the Aid Extension Club for 50 years, and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Carl Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan preceded her in death on April 4, 1976.

Survivors include one brother, Jesse Deardorff of Dudley; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dwight Buchanan and Carl Buchanan, Jr.; and one sister, Velma Cox.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Phil Warren officiating.

Interment followed in the Harper Cemetery.
