He entered the service 20 August 1943 and left for foreign service March 1944.

He was killed in action 21 January 1945 while serving as a machine gunner in the invasion of France.

He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the EAMET Medal, the Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart.
