Marlys Ida Ackermann, 49, Beatrice, died at her home in Beatrice. Born Nov. 24, 1937, in Sutton. Attended Sutton Public Schools. Graduated from Sutton High in 1955; was class valedictorian. Graduated from Chadron State College and received her masters at Oregon State University. Taught math and science in the towns of Petersburg, Beaver Crossing and in Oregon. Taught at Tri County School for the past 20 years. Member of Hope Reformed Church, Sutton, the Nebraska State Education Association and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors: sister, Mrs. Walter (Anita) Trautman of Sutton; brothers, Armin Ackermann of Geneva, Raymond Ackermann of Sutton and Kenneth Ackermann of Utica; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Peter and Rosalia Ackermann; sister, Esther Ackermann in 1986.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Hope Reformed Church, Sutton, the Rev. Maynard Koerner. Burial: Sutton Cemetery. Memorials to the family or Marlys Ackermann Scholarship Fund. Kohler Mortuary, Sutton.
