According to an Arizona Death Certificate, Annie Curtis Bratton was born in Wales on July 15, 1870, but her headstone shows the year 1871. Her parents were George Curtis and Maria Jones, both of whom were born in Wales. Annie was married to William George Bratton who worked as a miner. Annie and George had a son, Ray Bratten who owned and tended a bar in Wickenburg, Arizona. At the time of Annie's death from arteriosclerosis and cardiovascular diesease on Oct. 22, 1959, she was 89 years of age. She had been in Arizona 31 years, and had been in Glendale, AZ for two weeks at a hospital located at 1812 East Glendale Avenue.

Prescott Rites for Mrs Bratton

Funeral services were conducted in Prescott Monday for Mrs Annie Bratton, former Wickenburg resident, who died in Glendale Friday of last week. Burial was in the Prescott cemetery beside her husband George William Bratton, who died in 1934.

Mrs Bratton was the mother of Ray Bratton, prominent Wickenburg resident who died in 1945. She was the mother-in-law of Mrs Peggy Bratton and the grandmother of Orville Bratton and Mrs Bill Prince, all of Wickenburg.

Mrs Bratton was born in Wales in 1870 and came to the United States in 1879. She had lived in Arizona since 1928, coming here from Colorado. Wickenburg was her home since 1944 until recently when she divided her time between her children in Arizona, Washington and Oregon.

Surviving in addition to the Wickenburg relatives are two sons, Clarence of Glendale and Dean of Springfield, Ore.; and one daughter, Mrs Thelma Echo of Seattle, Wash. There are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
