Francis T. "Franny" Otteni, age 84 years, of Bear, DE passed away on Sunday October 16, 2011, at the St. Francis Hospital Compassionate Care.

Born in Wilmington, DE, Franny was the son of the late Rudolph P. and Amelia L. Konitzer Otteni.

Franny retired in 1987 after nearly 40 years of services at the General Motors plant in Wilmington where he was general supervisor. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who proudly served during WWII. Franny was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church for the past 21 years serving as a Eucharist minister, volunteer in the food closet and various other committees and was also a member of the Seton Seniors. He was a devoted husband and father who also enjoyed his daily walks, golf, woodworking and was an avid sports fan.

Franny is survived by his wife of 31 years Anna G. Chiofalo Otteni, 4 sons: James Otteni and his wife Nancy of Hockessin, DE, John Otteni and his wife Sandy of Yuma, AZ, Gerard Otteni and his wife Terry of Harmony, PA and Eric Otteni and his friend Heidi Hartmann of Lincoln University, PA, a daughter: Karen Washington of Wilmington, DE, Step-son: Thomas Rogers of TN, step-daughter: Celine Stuart and her husband Robert of Millsboro, DE, 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 21stat 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Rd, Bear, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will be held privatley at a later date in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Franny to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Rd., Bear, DE 19701, or Compassionate Care Hospice, 702 B Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19805.
