COBBS, William Hills, age 87, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Saline Evangelical Home. He was born December 31, 1923 in Leachville, Arkansas, the son of William Irvin and Allie Blanch (Mays) Cobbs. On January 21, 1950 in Angola, IN he married Naomi Witty and she preceded him in death on December 15, 2000. He was a veteran of The U.S. Navy serving during WWII. William was a member of the Saline American Legion Post # 322 and was a charter and lifetime member of the World War II Memorial. He was retired from Ford Motor Company and was a Union negotiator for the United Auto Workers and had also worked for Kaiser-Frazer Motors. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers from Superior Woods Assisted Living and the Saline Evangelical Home for their care and compassion. Survivors include his daughter Debra (Bob) Galbreath of Saline, grandchildren Robin (Scott B.) Wyatt of Grand Rapids, Kyle Galbreath of Wyandotte, Jennifer (James I.) Hughes of Saline, great-grandson Hunter T. Wyatt and his brother Lynn Norman Cobbs of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home, Saline, with Pastor Mike Frison officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery, Ann Arbor with military honors under the auspices of the Washtenaw County Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arbor Hospice, Saline Evangelical Home or Superior Woods Assisted Living.
