Mrs. Beulah Culler Clawson, 96, of 1144 Castle Ford Road, Boone, died Saturday morning, Dec. 8, 2007, at Glenbridge Health Care Center. She was born June 4, 1911 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Walter B. and Minerva Hodges Culler. She was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary C. Yokeley and husband, Bob, of Wallburg, N.C., Polly C. Combs and husband, Paul, of Boone, and Nina Sue Gurley and husband, Steve, of Lincolnton; five sons, Rev. Archie Clawson and wife, Irene, of Boone, Doyle Clawson and wife, Janice, of Stanley, Robert Clawson and wife, Betty, of Morganton, Bill Clawson and wife, Betty, of Boone, and Dennis Clawson of Dallas. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie R. Clawson; one daughter, Virginia Dare Hardy; one son, Dean Clawson; three brothers, Vance Culler, Tracy Culler, and James Culler; one sister, Nina Culler; two grandsons, Norman Hardy and Steve Clawson; and one son-in-law, Ed C. Hardy. Services were conducted Monday morning, Dec. 10, 2007, at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Officiating were the Rev. Gary Watson and the Rev. Mike Townsend. Burial followed in the Meat Camp Baptist Church Cemetery.
