George was the son of Paul & Mary Hill Parr. He married Eliza Tilley, 29 Nov 1873, Wabash County, Illinois. They had eight children.

Funeral Held From Residence Thursday
DEATH COMES IN HOSPITAL

The funeral of the late George D. Parr, who died July 9, at St. John's hospital, St. Louis, where he had been taken for a surgical operation, was held from the family home, 1 1/2 miles southwest of Lakewood, at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. C. P. Roberts of this city. Burial was at the Ridge cemetery, and was under the auspices of the Tower Hill lodge of Odd Fellows, of which the deceased was a member. Pall bearers consisted of three members of this lodge and three members of the Modern Woodmen of America, of which Mr. Parr was also a member.

George Daily Parr was a son of the late Paul F. and Mary Parr. He was born in Spencer county, Indiana, November 1, 1852, and at the time of his death, which followed an illness of six or eight months, was 64 years, 7 months and 18 days old. On November 29, 1873, he married Miss Eliza A. Tilley, who with seven of the eight children born to them, survives his decease. The children are Lavad(sic) A., Floyd P., Jesse, Guy, Maude, Grace, Toda (who died in infancy) and Bert. The living children all reside in the neighborhood of Lakewood. There are also 20 grandchildren.

Mr. Parr was the third of eleven children born to his parents. Three of these, with the parents, previously expired. Those who are left include Mrs. Calvin Jelf of Opdyke, Ill., Mrs. William Smith of Booneville, Ind., Steven(sic) Parr of Cowden, Joseph A. Parr of Neosha, Mo., L. F. Parr of Lakewood, Mrs. Curt Miller and Mrs. John Ferguson of Rockport, Ind.

Shipper of Stock
Mr. Parr was for many years a resident of the southern part of the the county, and had a wide acquaintance and many friends. He was of a helpful disposition and bore a cheerful mein, always trying to make those about him happy. For years he was a shipper of stock, and a prominent man in his community. His popularity was attested by the great number of friends and neighbors who attended the funeral services Thursday. He had never engaged actively in church work, but had frequently expressed his belief in God, and declared his readiness to meet Him.

The funeral of the late George D.
