Mrs. J. H. Burkey died at her home, February 6th, aged 72 years, of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Burkey had been in poor health for several years.
The deceased was born December 7, 1861, in Armstrong County and was a daughter of Joseph and Annie Whitacre. She was a member of the Montgomery Brethren Church and had resided in this community for a number of years.
She leaves her husband, J. H. Burkey and the following children: Boyd Burkey of Hastings; Mrs. Etta Lukehart of Rochester Mills, R.D.; and Mrs. Bertha Fyock of Templeton. Also 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She also leaves these brothers and sister: Mrs. Ida Fleming of Dayton, R. D.; A.M. Whitacre of Rural Valley and Len Whitacre of Home.
Funeral services were preached in the Montgomery Brethren Church by her pastor, Rev. A. Edwards with burial in the church cemetery.
