Lyndle Paul Benjamin son of Wm. and Etta May (Kerry) Benjamin, was born at Martinsburg, IL June 14, 1916, and passed away at his home in Pleasant Hill, IL at 10:30 am Thurs. May 3, 1956 at the age of 39 years, 11 months and 11 days. He was united in marriage to Barthella Hartsock, June 18, 1938 in Bowling Green, Missouri. To this union 3 children were born, namely Linda Sue, 14, Judith Carrol, 12 and Lyndle Paul Jr. 10. Lyndle spent the greatest part of his life in and around Pleasant Hill. He lived a conscientious and sincere life, he stood in the community as an honest and respected citizen. Lyndle made his confession of faith and was baptised February 22, 1931, by Aaron Deaker, Minister. In his home life he was a devoted and affectionate companion, a kind, loving father and true friend, always anxious for the welfare of his loved ones. During the months of his illness, he was always patient and courageous, bearing his suffering with fortitude. His passing leaves to mourn their loss, his widow, 3 children, his sisters and brothers namely, Lela Shipley, Time, IL; Leola Preston, Mendota, IL; Norene Hanley, Quincy, IL; Lucille Duggins, Pleasant Hill, IL; Lawrence, Pleasant Hill, IL; Loyd, Corpus Christi, TX; John, Summer Hill, IL; Logan and Fred, Nebo, IL; Leonard, Rockport, IL; his sister-in-law, Helen Kelly, mother and father in law, Mr. & Mrs. John Hartsock, who loved him as a brother and son, besides nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends, who will miss his cheery smile and happy way. His parents and one brother precede him in death. Funeral services were held Saturday.
