MADISON - Norma J. O'Kane, age 75, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 1999 in a local hospital. Norma was born on October 15, 1923 in the township of Haney, (Crawford County), the daughter of James and Mary (Jones) Meade. In March 28, 1945 she married Clifford O'Kane in Lodi, Wisconsin. In the early part of the marriage she was a wife and homemaker, and in the 1960's she started working at Sears Roebuck as a bookkeeper, until retiring. She did volunteer work through Bashford United Methodist Church, the Cub Scouts, Moose Lodge, and other organizations. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She is survived by her husband, Clifford of Madison, daughter, Sharon (Douglas) Bowen of Madison; son, Stephen (Vicki O'Kane of Cambridge, son, Russell O'Kane of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a daughter Sara (Curtiss) Gartmann of Madison. She is further survived by seven grand children, seven great-grandchildren; a brother Elden (Adell) Meade of Chandler, Arizona; dearest friends, Robert and Marge O'Kane of Madison and Charlene Thompson of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and four brothers. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12,1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 North Sherman Avenue, Madison with the Reverend Roger Becker officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Madison. Friends may call on Sunday, July 11, 1999 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME.
