Rites Tuesday for Barney Rowenow, 64
Barney A. Rosenow, 64, Estherville area farmer since 1942, died last night at Holy Family Hospital. He had been in ill health since last spring.

Mr. Rosenow was born Nov. 1, 1894 [Per WWI draft records, 1895] at Earling, the son of Henry and Cora Rosenow. He received his education in the Shelby county schools and was married to Beatrice Black, April 19, 1925 at Dunlap.

The Rosenows moved to a farm 10 miles northeast of Estherville in 1942 and have farmed there since.

He was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his widow, two sons, John of Estherville and Bernard stationed with the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, Ky.; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (June) Wilson of East Moline, Ill.; and Mrs. Donald (Deloris) Tvedt of Iowa City; five grandchildren, four brothers, George of Earling, Perley of Tennant, William and Carl of Estherville. One brother, Herbert, preceded Mr. Rosenow in death.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Glenn McMichael of Waverly officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call at Sternborg Funeral Home from Sunday afternoon until time of services.

Pallbearers, all neighbors or former neighbors of the Rosenows, will be Robert and Jim Gray, Edwin Madison, Maxwell Jamison, Donald Miller and Henry Sunde. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 29, 1958)
