Shell Rock – Claude A. [Ambrose] Ressler, 65, Saturday [May 16, 1953] at Sacramento, Cal.; born Dec. 18, 1887, son of John and Nancy Ressler; married Susan Stevens July 5, 1909, at Clarksville; farmed near Clarksville, Dumont and Estherville until 1932, when he became custodian of the school at Gruver, Ia., where he worked for 20 years; wife died Aug. 1, 1937; in July, 1952, he went to Denver, Colo., for a few months, then to Sacramento; leaves four daughters, Mrs. Flora Deling, Dunnell, Minn.; Mrs. Dorothy Koster, Mrs. Thelma Leek and Helen, all of Sacramento; one son, Donald, Denver, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Orin, Clarksville, and Herman, Sparrows Point, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Reul Johnson and Mrs. Eliza Kimbell, Shell Rock; Mrs. Grace Catchpool, Clarksville; funeral will be Thursday at Gruver.
