Daughter of Elisha Morse and Mary Ann Parsons. Annie Morse married John Cordell in Nova Scotia in 1877. They relocated to Nanaimo, British Columbia about 1891 with four children. Emma, Joseph, Jennie and John. Daughter Blanche died in Nova Scotia about 1891. Four more children were born in Nanaimo, Fred, Azuel, Ann and Constance. Annie's husband, John, drowned in Nanaimo Harbour in 1900. Annie then married Henry Bolton in 1901 in Nanaimo. They had two sons, William Barton Bolton who died as an infant in 1902 and Harry Bolton. After her husband Henry died in 1904 Annie relocated to Seattle Washington with her children and married Matthew Flannery about 1909.

Mrs. Annie Flannery, wife of Matt Flannery of Marine Drive, died at Columbus Sanitarium, Seattle, Wednesday, following an illness that has kept her confined to her bed for seven weeks.

Mrs. Flannery was born at Parsboro, Nova Scotia April 2, 1861, and is reported to be a direct descendant of G.F. B. Morse, inventor of the telegraph.

Mr and Mrs. Flannery first settled in the west at Nanaimo, BC., coming to this section of the vicinity that is known now as Marine Drive about twenty years ago. At that time a narrow trail, over land or a rowboat by water were the only means of communication with Bremerton.

Twelve children were born to Mrs. Flannery eight of whom survive, and who were in Seattle at the time of their mother's death. The sons are: Fred, Jack, and Harry Cordell. And the daughters, Mrs. Azuel Jordison of Seattle, Mrs. Jennie Casey of San Pedro, Calif. Mrs. Emma Allen of Bellingham, Wash, Mrs. Ann Martin of Berkley, Calif, and Mrs. Benjamin Rose of Alameda, Calif. Her husband also survives to mourn her loss.

Mrs. Flannery had a host of friends in Bremerton, and throughout the country, who will be sad to learn the passing away of such a lovable mother and friend. Funeral services will be held at the Lewis Chapel Friday, August 8, at 3 p.m., followed by cremation.
