David Gene Barrington, 67, of Zolfo Springs, died on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at home.
Born July 13, 1944, at Omaha, Neb., he came to Hardee County from El Paso, Texas, in 1971. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with Hardee County and a member of Riverview Heights Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shelbie Reese Steiner.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Barrington of Zolfo Springs; son James Lambeth of Wauchula; daughters Lisa Lambeth-Horne and husband Jim of Pensacola, Deidra Lambeth-Bass of Winter Haven, Julie Lambeth-Pitts and husband Frank of Alabama, Barbie Barrington-Alden and huband Donald of Wauchula and Brandie-Barrington-Cloud and husband Kelly of Zolfo Springs; three sisters Beverly Carpenter of Butler, Pa., Shirley Neff of Chicora, Pa., and Janice Wood of Oklahoma City, Okla., 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Riverview Heights Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Harris officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by Robarts Family Funeral Home. Transcribed from The Herald-Advocate dated October 13, 2011.
