Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Celestine J. "Sally" Thell, age 76, of St. Cloud. Sally passed away peacefully on October 14 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House with family at her side. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be at 5 p.m. followed by St. Anthony's Christian Women and Knights of Columbus Council 5548 Auxiliary rosary at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Sally was born August 5, 1935 in St. Anthony, Minnesota to John and Theresa (Schmidt) Urbashich. She married Jerry Thell on June 2, 1955 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Anthony. She was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. She was member of St. Anthony's Christian Women, VFW Post 428 Auxiliary, American Legion Unit 428 Auxiliary and Knights of Columbus Council 5548 Auxiliary.
Sally enjoyed bowling, fishing, listening to the Twins, and snowmobiling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Sally is survived by her husband Jerry, children Kathy (Bob) Tenney of Kimball, John (Joleen) of Rice, Sue (Randy) Meyer of St. Cloud, Tom (Debbie) of Apple Valley, Bill of Kimball and Gary (Sue) of St. Cloud, 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, sisters Marion Kinder of Aberdeen, SD, Joanie (Art) Job of Dayton, MN and Jan (Roger) Voit of Albany and brother John (Mary Jane) Urbashich of St. Anthony.
Preceding her in death were her parents, son Wayne, sister Florentine Schneider and brother Joseph Urbashich.
