Emma Spears Harris, 81, died at 7:22 p.m. Monday (Feb. 17, 2003) at Longview, Illinois.

She was born May 22, 1921 in Burkesville, Kentucky, to James and Sara F. Hagen Spears.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.

She married Wallace L. Harris on Jan. 29, 1949 in Nicholasville, Ky. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Clarence H. Alley and Robert L. Harris , three daughters, Barbara S. Winchester, Lisa K. Redden and Julitta I. Allen, a brother, Howard Spears, four sisters, Ava Thrasher, Eula Spears Lewis, Dorothy Reneau and Hazel Denny, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
